Although overall my...Now then, Prussian John here. Although overall my Prussians and allies probably inflicted more causalities on the defending Austrians and friends it was to no avail. Most spectacular being the clearing of the hapless defenders of the bridge, with hollywood style falling into the river!! As part of the post battle debrief, we agreed a less cautious advance may have helped. I was overawed by the combination of the (superior) Austrian artillery and cavalry and held back on my left. A more aggressive advance may have seen off the latter and flanked the former. Seizing the woods on either side of the river was the plan and then using them as staging posts to launch short assaults to take the bridge. The Austrian CinC foolhardy but effective charge stopped the one, although i expect numbers would have prevailed in another move or two and the other was getting there when we had to stop.
