It is particularly interesting to me because I chose the Zinna OoB as a start for an experiment with a pair of tabletop armies made from German 30mm flats (http://kolyusha.blogspot.de/search/label/Gruenewald ), it is fascinating to see your units and compare them to what I've made of the sparse sources on the imperial army in the seven years war.

I am mostly using kronoskaf.com as source, so I hope you don't mind, and don't feel offended, if I ask a few very nitpicking detail questions... Feel free to ignore them if you don't like this kind of button-color-controversy, but to me it does make up part of the fun of gaming with the relatively obscure units from the many minor estates from 18th century Germany. Here goes:

Wurttemberg:
- the unit is called Fusiliers in the kronoskaf list of Swabian Kreis units http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Reichsarmee#Swabian_District
- it is shown with Musketeer hats and just a textual note about Fusilier like caps in http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Kreisinfanterieregiment_Württemberg although the Knötel illustration as per 1781 shows the Fusilier cap
- your blog has the unit with Fusilier caps, do you have an explicit indication these were worn in 1759?
I would love to have a bit of variety in head gear, so I would like to follow your example in this case and ignore the kronoskaf interpretation.

Mainz
- the picture on the blog looks like the white and blue uniform of the infantry regiment Mainz in Austrian services, http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Mainz_Infantry
- the kronoskaf Zinna OoB lists the Reichsarmee Kurmainz regiment with white-green uniforms http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Kurmainz_Infantry
I am planning to field the Kurmainz units with green uniform facings (in fact, I have the white coats for the first half battalion painted and will do the facings next...). Did you use the blue guys for convenience or because you have OoB information that they were there?

Hessen-Darmstadt
- kronoskaf lists this small state's guard batallion as normal mix of mostly musketeers and a grenadier company in http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Prinz_Georg_Infantry
- your blog looks like you are fielding an all-grenadier battalion, do you have explicit sources indicating this?
I was going to field a batallion with normal tricorns and add a stand of grenadiers to one of two converged grenadier batallions for the Imperial OoB.

Again, please take this feedback as a token of appreciation, not as complaints about your fantastic blog. Thanks for sharing!

KlausKolyushahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01667383043194561086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8467940965162601045.post-66404223390949398872016-03-24T11:09:28.861+00:002016-03-24T11:09:28.861+00:00As always, a pleasure to read your report. It was interesting to compare it with Charles Grant's representation in vol.5 of Wargaming in History. I think I prefer your set up! If you are interested in the account and map from By Force of Arms, and don't have the book already, let me know. I'm sure we can arrange something.

Best of luck with the back problems - I hope they soon clear up.

Keith.Keith Flinthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12903769462646267048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8467940965162601045.post-18191204206116062132016-03-15T20:17:39.322+00:002016-03-15T20:17:39.322+00:00What a fine looking game,Colin. Interestingly, I don't have back problems except when, sometimes, I set up and play a game. A gamer-friend of mine suggested that I take yoga classes, but since working out with weights, when I can which isn't enough, I'm doing better.

IvorIvor Jancihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07505490730898703625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8467940965162601045.post-18924374395156670322016-03-15T09:47:52.747+00:002016-03-15T09:47:52.747+00:00Excellent, I've saved that Zinna map for futur...Excellent, I've saved that Zinna map for future reference.
