I picked these lovely figures up off Graham Cummings of Cran Tara. They were sculpted as War of the Austrian Succession Piedmontese but are also suitable for SYW troops from Modena. Now, the Duchy of Modena had a very small army and all they did in the war was to garrison parts of northern Italy under Austrian governance in order to release the Austrian garrisons for service against the Prussians.
The battalion in front is the Regiment Modena and the one at the rear is the Regiment Garafagno. Flags are from Maverick Models. I have 12 RSM Austrian dragoons which I am in the process of painting up as the Duchy's sole dragoon regiment, the Rangoni Dragoons.
very pretty troops that deserve I think a better occupation than garrison duty!
ReplyDeleteThanks. they will no doubt hit the table along with the rest of my Austrian army to take on the Prussians....I dont thank they were very good troops but i like them!
