Well fed up...!!!!

I was planning to take part in the Grimsby Club's 28mm Blenheim game today. Train booked. Games bag packed with necessary accessories, medicines etc. Womenfolk booked into a spa for the day while I was away. Sadly my health took a nose dive and Friday saw me barely able to walk as my back and the sciatica decided to party leaving me almost immobile, walking with a pronounced 60 degree list to for'ard and doped up to the eyeballs on opiates! Oh well, but not like I needed a rest. So, one of the potential gaming hi-lights of the year has slipped into a morphine fug. Am I bothered? No, but thats probably the pills speaking.

Seriously though, far better I didn't go than have this kick in while I was there and spoil the day for someone/everyone. Feeling a bit better now and able to tidy up my paint station and try and peel the months-old newspaper of the top of the desk, urgh! I have some Hinchliffe 18pdr guns on garrison carriages that I want to try and assemble, and I might even have another go at trying to get the next couple of Vauban fortress pieces painted. Or I might just read, watch tv and spend money on internet purchases!

Its a shame 'cos Rob and I were planning a game last Thursday evening which we put off as we were both expecting to be taking part in the Blenheim game. Hopefully we can fit it in next week or over the Bank Holiday weekend. I need to get as many games in as possible (or is that as is sensible?) before mid-September when I will loose my current games room when it gets converted into a guest bedroom with en suite. We are going to convert the garage into a man cave at the same time so I hope to be installed there by mid October......

I hope the girls are enjoying themselves being pampered at the spa with my credit card..... (I do actually).

  1. Sorry to hear you are hors de combat Colin! Hope you are feeling better soon. GHQ is on the move into a converted garage too. What a coincidence!
