French Revolutionary War Artillery

Since the last post I went off piste somewhat and knocked off this battery of 12pdrs to add a bit of weight to my French army. Here they are as of around 4.30 p.m. this afternoon drying off in the sunshine having just been varnished.  The gunners and assorted paraphernalia are with one exception Eureka Miniatures. The exception, one of the officers among the gunners, is Eagle, as are the 12pdrs. The mounted officer is Eureka but he's on someone else's horse (Elite maybe?), and the trumpeter is Dixon, again with a random horse from the bits box.

The bases are each 60mm wide and 120mm deep as I reckon that this gives a reasonable footprint for the battery en masse. I'm quite happy with the finished battery, especially as I was rushing to get it finished for a game on Saturday as its Bastille Day!

  2. Good heavens Colin, all that fine weather has really had an impact...your output has been prodigious. Great looking guns and just as well they are ready for the Bastille Day Parade.

  5. Splendid stuff Colin...
I really like the French artillery uniforms of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.
    Simple but colourful.

    All the best. Aly
