Over the past few days of sunny weather I took myself out into the garden to start this piece which I am rather pleased with. Its not quite finished as I need to add some building materials and rubble at each end. I don't have any Romans and have no desire to start them or a Gangs of Rome project, but I reckoned this wouldn't look out of place in some games set during the Italian Wars or in the wars of the French Revolution in northern Italy. I don't envisage people fighting over it, but plan simply for it to be a table edge piece of scenery. We shall see what it looks like in a few weeks.
That it a gorgeous bit of scenery! It would be a challenging part of a game's terrain for s skirmish game - imagine the Duellists in a winner takes all scene on the top!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely piece of scenery!
ReplyDeleteOh that looks such fun. what a piece to fight over.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work 🙂
ReplyDeleteA masterpiece, very evocative and just perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice model and with some rubble scattered around and creepers climbing up the supports it coud be a stunning piece. as you say very much an item that could feature in the wars of Italy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. I am rubbling and adding creepers today.
DeleteYou have done a really nice job on this Colin...
ReplyDeleteImpressive - who sells it?
ReplyDeleteHi Doug.iirc both bits are from their Gangs of Rome range. Not expensive and easy to put to gather. Colin
DeleteSarissa models
DeleteAh yes, they were at Carronade and had some very nice stuff. I didn't notice the aqueduct.
ReplyDeleteNo Romans? That sorry state of affairs wants rectifying pdq! Nice work on the MDF model, perhaps an arena might look nice next?
ReplyDeleteThank you David. No to the Romans, for now at any rate. Need to get cracking on my War of 1812 and/or the Italian Wars stuff in what’s left of this year
DeleteNice piece of scenery Colin. Maybe I could be privileged to try some duelling round it when I visit "in a few weeks"? Chris
