Heat Stops Play

I was planning on having a game today but while setting it all up yesterday I realised that my games room was going to be unbearable, as even with the skylights and French door open the temperature peaked at its over 30C yesterday and 29.5C earlier today at midday. I was dripping with sweat after less than an hour of setting up and it was not nice. Now I love the sun and heat for my aching bones but I’m no proponent of wargaming in a sauna. It’s now 28C so positively cool by comparison, and compared to other parts of the UK and Europe it’s almost chilly!

So, I have some terrain that needs painting and lots of figures to be prepped and primed so I should get them done in the garden.

Hopefully can get a game in next weekend.

  1. The haar has just rolled in up here, dropping the temp by a good few degrees. It's been cooler than with you guys but still very hot. The only good thing is undercoats dry really quickly in the sun so I've been having a bit a spray-fest.

    Take care guys!

  2. Wise decision! Good weather for spray varnishing though!

  3. Wise choice, stay cool and well hydrated. We just returned from 3.5 weeks in the UK and got a fair bit of unexpected heat. Stepping out of Heathrow with 7 hours jet lag into plus 40 weather wilted us.

  4. A shame to miss a battle but one of the advantages I have with gaming in the dungeon/cellar keeps cool in hot weather 👍

  5. Heh, winter is coming. Too hot and too cold. It stinks when real life intrudes on our little worlds. Nice to see you have furry friends to share with the vicissitudes of the weather.

  6. Still, a lovely garden to enjoy...complete with grass that is still green!
